Hong Kong actress Maggie Cheung has confirmed that she has been signed for Quentin Tarantinos World War II film Inglourious Basterds, but regrets she wont get a chance to share the screen space with Brad Pitt in the movie.
New Delhi, Nov 19 : Hong Kong actress Maggie Cheung has confirmed that she has been signed for Quentin Tarantino's World War II film "Inglourious Basterds," but regrets she won't get a chance to share the screen space with Brad Pitt in the movie.
According to reports by Star Daily, the 44-year-old actress said that she would only appear in a couple of scenes.
The Cannes best actress claimed that her role would be challenging because she has to speak French.
Written and directed by the Oscar-winning Tarantino, the lead star in the film is Brad Pitt playing the leader of eight Jewish-American soldiers.
Cheung will play a French woman who owns a cinema in Paris, reports
"My character is very interesting. But it's a pity I wouldn't be able to star in a scene together with Brad Pitt," said Cheung was quoted as saying.
The film is set for release at next year's Cannes Film Festival in May.
