Madge to make £3m profit from country house sale

Madonna is set to make a tidy profit of 3 million pounds after selling the country home she bought for 9 million pounds in 2001 - for a whopping 12 million pounds.

London, May 6 : Madonna is set to make a tidy profit of 3 million pounds after selling the country home she bought for 9 million pounds in 2001 - for a whopping 12 million pounds.

The 49-year-old decided to put the Wiltshire pad on the market because she and hubby Guy Ritchie don't spend enough time there.

The pop superstar used to spend her time riding horses on the 100 acres of parkland surrounding the estate, but since focusing on her career again, the singer has not spent enough time at Ashcombe House to make it worth running.

"She has been touring and promoting for months and not visited," The Sun quoted a pal, as saying.

"She still loves riding but despite many lessons is not very proficient. Her famous fall, in which she broke a shoulder, was not her last.

"Her longing to be an English countrywoman has also faded. Having tried shooting she hates it and banned Guy from doing it there.

"The family did have a routine of going to the Kabbalah center on Saturday mornings in London. Then they'd travel to Ashcombe and spend the weekend riding, shooting and jogging. But it hasn't happened much lately," the pal added.

The house has eight bathrooms and five acres of land. It comes with several cottages and two separate driveways.

It also has male and female gyms, a huge kitchen and a 'LA meets England' decor.
