Macca and Starr to reunite for a historic performance?

Beatles fans worldwide might just get to see a performance of their lifetime soon, for rumours are abuzz that Sir Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr will be reuniting on stage once again for a historic performance.

Washington, May 5 : Beatles fans worldwide might just get to see a performance of their lifetime soon, for rumours are abuzz that Sir Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr will be reuniting on stage once again for a historic performance.

The much-awaited performance may happen in the Sound City music festival, in commemoration of the Fab Four's hometown of Liverpool, England, being named 2008's Capital of Culture.

With MCCartney already set to take to the stage on the occasion and Liverpool City Council granting his production company 3.4 million dollars to stage the event, it's been speculated that the ex-Beatle might just treat the audience with a secret gig - with his former bandmate Starr.

"There's been a lot of chat in Beatles fan chatrooms on the internet and the feeling is that it could happen," Contactmusic quoted a source, as telling British newspaper the Daily Star.

The cultural extravaganza will continue from 27-30 May at the Hard Days Night Hotel and various other city venues.
