Washington, May 05 : American film actor Tom Hanks has openly offered his support to U.S. presidential hopeful Barack Obama.

The offer was made in the form of an endorsement video on his MySpace.com page.

Hanks joins celebrities like Jessica Alba, Will Smith and Oprah Winfrey in going public with his hopes of getting Obama in the White House.

The double Oscar winner stated in his homemade video his choice of president

"I'm Tom Hanks and I want Barack Obama to be the next President of our country," Contactmusic quoted him as saying.

"As an official celebrity, I know my endorsement has just made your mind up for you," he added as a joke.
