Bruce Willis and Harrison Ford voted Greatest Ever Action Heroes

They might be heading towards old age, but the appeal of Bruce Willis and Harrison Ford as the epitome of cinematic action heroes continues.

London, May 5 : They might be heading towards old age, but the appeal of Bruce Willis and Harrison Ford as the epitome of cinematic action heroes continues.

Willis, who returned to the screen with the fourth instalment of his Die Hard franchise last year, and 65-year-old Ford, who hits UK cinema screens as Indiana Jones later this month, tied for the top spot in a poll of the 'Greatest Ever Action Heroes.'

The Pearl and Dean poll of 3,000 people found that many feel that 53-year-old Willis set the standard for the 1980s action hero playing wisecracking cop John McClane in 'Die Hard.'

And Ford is remembered as Han Solo in 'Star Wars' and as the swashbuckling archaeologist Indiana Jones.

'Terminator' star turned governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger, 60, came third in the poll with 15 per cent votes.

"It seems I'm not alone in preferring the older breed of action hero - film fans agree the newer leading men can't hold a candle to the old school," the Scotsman quoted Kathryn Jacob, the chief executive of Pearl and Dean, as saying.
