Movies with messages not entertaining: Harrison Ford

American actor Harrison Ford revealed that he does not like to take part in movies with messages, as he fears they are not entertaining enough.

Washington, May 03 : American actor Harrison Ford revealed that he does not like to take part in movies with messages, as he fears they are not entertaining enough.

Ford, whose movies are among the top five box office draws in the world, insists that it is because he ensures that the movies he takes up are potential big hits.

"I think that you're obliged to offer entertainment - that people go to films to be entertained, not to be instructed," Contactmusic quoted him as telling the new issue of U.S. magazine Cowboys + Indians.

"Films that are instructional, if you will, are just not as successful as movie experiences. And there are probably other places where opinion can be affected more substantially.

"I like the kinds of films that I do. My sense of it is that this is a service occupation. We are storytellers.

"Movies are so expensive these days, you not only have to tell your story well but you have to tell a story that people around the campfire want to hear. It's always been that way," he added.
