The Fifty guests attending the wedding will be given a hand-made box tied with a ribbon and containing a live butterfly, which they have to release at the time of the wedding.
"The butterfly release will make everyone gasp with amazement. It's a beautiful sight, the day is going to be magical. They've chosen the Riviera's most picturesque spot," The Sun quoted a source, as saying.
Celebrations will continue for two days around the June 14 wedding, for which the 22-year-old England ace and his fiance have booked the national monument of La Cervara.
It is believed that Coleen chose the unique butterfly theme, which was inspired by the rare Two-Tailed Pasha species which feeds on local trees, to symbolise her love and their years growing up together since their teens.
"Releasing the butterflies symbolises the freedom to be their own people within marriage. Coleen's keen to still be seen as successful in her own right after the wedding," said the source.
As the monastery chapel does not have papal permission as a wedding venue for a Catholic ceremony, the Merseyside couple will get Coleen's mum's parish priest to fly from Croxteth to perform a blessing in ceremony and will wed at a civil service in Cheshire a week earlier.
The abbey is situated on a hilltop between Portofino and Santa Margherita and was founded in 1381 by Benedictine monks. The breath-taking venue was also used for Rod Stewart's wedding.
There, the guests at the wedding will not only relish a pre-wedding meal the day before the bash but will also behaving personalised Love Hearts sweets made for the wedding.
And after the ceremony, they will have their dinner on a terrace and will then be heading to a yacht for celebrations.
