Nicole Richie to be honoured with motherhood award

Its just been five months that she became a mother, and now Nicole Richie is being honoured with a parenting award.

Washington, May 24 : It's just been five months that she became a mother, and now Nicole Richie is being honoured with a parenting award.

The socialite delivered a baby girl, Harlow, in January this year and now she will be bagging a Golden Pacifier Award from Babytalk Magazine.

In an interview with America's OK! Magazine, Babytalk editor-in-chief Lisa Moran said that 'The Simple Life' star has changed a lot for the better ever since she has entered motherhood.

"Honouring Nicole Richie with a Babytalk Golden Pacifier Award might come as a surprise to some, but we felt that she deserved some recognition for her turnaround since becoming a mom," Contactmusic quoted her, as saying.

She added: "She's grown up a lot since the arrival of little Harlow, and her creation of the Richie-Madden Children's Foundation has demonstrated her efforts to set a good example by shining a spotlight on important issues affecting today's families."

The award will also be presented to former talk show host Ricki Lake for her 2008 documentary The Business of Being Born, which narrates her home-birthing experience.
