Robert De Niro all set to open Japanese hotel chain

The success of his Nobu hotels has made Robert De Niro decide to expand his business empire by setting up a new chain of Japanese-themed hotels.

Washington, May 2 : The success of his Nobu hotels has made Robert De Niro decide to expand his business empire by setting up a new chain of Japanese-themed hotels.

The new string of hotels comes as the latest of his Nobu ventures, a partnership with chef Nobu Matsuhisa and Richie Notar.

The legendary actor already has a number of Japanese restaurants around the world.

The latest chain of Nobu hotels will debut with the opening of one hotel in the Israeli resort of Herzliya this summer (08). Following this, the next hotel will be opened in New York's financial district over the next two-to-four years.

"Instead of a mint on the pillow, you could find a sushi roll," Contactmusic quoted Notar, as joking of the new hotel, which will have a Japanese flavour throughout,

The veteran actor's son Raphael, who is in charge of marketing the properties, added: "It's really exciting for us."
