Maverick Bollywood director Nagesh Kukunoor, comes up with yet another offbeat film Aashayein, a portrayal of the life of a compulsive gambler.
Mumbai, May 16 : Maverick Bollywood director Nagesh Kukunoor, comes up with yet another offbeat film 'Aashayein', a portrayal of the life of a compulsive gambler.
The film, which can be classified as drama is produced by Percept Pictureompany and has been directed by Nagesh Kukunoor.
Director Nagesh Kukunoor, known for his films like Iqbal and Dor has tried to portray something new in his this movie.
Present on the occasion of a news conference of 'Aashayein' was the leading lady of the film Sonal Sehgal.
"The name of my character is Nafisa and she is a modern girl. She loves her boyfriend, the character being played by John Abraham in the film. This couple is just like normal couple till the time they are faced with difficult situations but they don't loose hope and win in the end," said Sonal.
Nagesh Kukunoor's film stars John Abraham, Sonal Sehgal, Anaitha Nair, Prateeksha Lonkar, Farida Jalal and Girish Karnad besides many others.
The director Nagesh Kukunoor spoke at length to the media gathering present on the location of films first look.
"I was a chemical engineer and every time I used to plan that one day I will follow my dream and some day I will achieve my dream. With the help of this film, I wanted to show that don't plan and don't wait just to follow your dream," said Kukunoor.
Music of the film has been rendered by Salim-Sulaiman.
The film is slated for release on June 20.
