US gossip show on the hunt for dirt on Heath Ledger

Late Aussie actor Heath Ledgers grieving family are bracing themselves, as a US gossip show, set on digging dirt about the actor, is scheduled to arrive in Australia May 12.

Melbourne, May 12 : Late Aussie actor Heath Ledger's grieving family are bracing themselves, as a US gossip show, set on digging dirt about the actor, is scheduled to arrive in Australia May 12.

The late actor's family had turned down the offer of E! True Hollywood Story producers, who were to fly into Perth, for an interview for a one-hour episode of the tell-all celebrity show.

The program, which is due to air globally on July 20, is understood to have secured support from a number of the Aussie actor's school friends and former colleagues.

The most interesting part however, is the claim that Ledger fathered a love child, which has generated the most interest from the American TV network.

E! producer Dana Drake has been quoted as saying they would be "open" to tackling the controversial areas of his life, including the Ledger family in-fighting between his father Kim and his brothers.

"Our intentions are to produce a thoughtful and heartfelt program about one of the greatest talents of his generation," News.com.au quoted Drake as saying.

The "tribute" will chronicle his life from his WA upbringing to the tragic details of his accidental overdose death.

Of the many people who have been in Ledger's life, Drake is believed to be meeting with Perth casting director Annie Murtagh-Monks, who discovered Ledger in a school production of Hamlet.

She has not made clear whether the program would approach the woman at the centre of the Ledger paternity row, whose identity has been concealed to protect the child.
