Janet Jackson: I miss my childhood

Janet Jackson has condemned reports suggesting that she had a troubled childhood, insisting that she misses her life as a kid.

Washington, Mar 6 : Janet Jackson has condemned reports suggesting that she had a troubled childhood, insisting that she misses her life as a kid.

Jackson and her superstar siblings were pushed into pursuing a career in singing at a tender age and she made her first recording when she was 11.

However, the Jackson sister insists that enjoyed a normal childhood, and pines for the innocence she enjoyed back then.

"I miss being in that moment, being in the now and just having a good time," Contactmusic quoted her, as saying.

"When I can remember those moments... I didn't have a lot of them, but I remember playing with the friends next door to me. We'd get on top of this brick wall. We'd climb the wall, sit on top of it, (childhood friend) Wendy and myself.

"We'd get these sticks... we'd pretend like we were cooking... with berries," she added.

Jackson credits her parents with keeping her sane.

"We had a lot of chores to do growing up. My parents were very strict and they always let us know that this is God's doing. And as quickly as you've achieved all of this he can and will take it away," she said.
