Haydn Ledger insisted that there was a "real possibility" that his nephew had fathered a girl with a woman.
He claimed that the 'Brokeback Mountain' star was 17 when he had an affair with a 25-year-old woman, who is believed to have discovered her pregnancy after the affair ended.
According to family sources, the girl is being raised by the woman and the other man, however suspicion over the child's father prevails.
"She had the baby. Everyone lived under the assumption that she was the daughter of the mother's boyfriend and that is how she has been brought up," News.com.au quoted a family source, as saying.
If the claims are proved it could split Ledger's 145,000 dollars estate between daughter Matilda Rose and the love child.
Until now Heath's father, Kim, mother Sally Bell, sister Kate Ledger and half sisters Olivia Ledger and Ashleigh Bell have been named as the only beneficiaries, while New York court documents also acknowledge Matilda Rose, as an interested party.
