Elizabeth Banks in final talks to play Laura Bush in W

If reports are to be believed, actress Elizabeth Banks is in final negotiations to play Laura Bush in a biopic on George W Bush.

Washington, Mar 28 : If reports are to be believed, actress Elizabeth Banks is in final negotiations to play Laura Bush in a biopic on George W Bush.

Variety reported that Banks is on the verge of signing on to star as the First Lady in 'W', Oliver Stone's upcoming version of George Bush's life.

With Josh Brolin already signed on to star as Bush, Banks will start shooting W in Louisiana in April as soon as the formalities are completed.

Stone has said that the film, based on a script penned by Stone with his Wall Street co-writer Stanley Weiser, will provide a "fair, true portrait of the man."

"It's like Frank Capra territory on one hand, but I'll also cover the demons in his private life, his bouts with his dad and his conversion to Christianity, which explains a lot of where he is coming from," Contactmusic quoted the JFK director, as saying in January.

He added: "It includes his belief that God personally chose him to be president of the United States, and his coming into his own with the stunning, pre-emptive attack on Iraq. It will contain surprises for Bush supporters and his detractors."
