George Lucas says new Indiana Jones film is just like other movies

George Lucas has warned fans not to expect too much out of the upcoming fourth Indiana Jones film.

Washington, Mar 26 : George Lucas has warned fans not to expect too much out of the upcoming fourth Indiana Jones film.

Lucas co-wrote and produced 'Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull' set for UK release on May 22, but he doesn't sound too excited by what is being called the year's most highly anticipated movie.

The plot of the film, directed by Steven Spielberg and scripted by David Koepp, is still under wraps but a recent teaser trailer has led fans to expect a triumphant comeback.

However, Lucas said his experiences with his films set in a galaxy far, far away has urged led him to believe that audiences will almost certainly be disappointed by the revival of Indiana Jones.

"When you do a movie like this, a sequel that's very, very anticipated, people anticipate ultimately that it's going to be the Second Coming," Contactmusic quoted Lucas, as telling USA Today.

"And it's not. It's just a movie. Just like the other movies. You probably have fond memories of the other movies. But if you went back and looked at them, they might not hold up the same way your memory holds up."

"When people approach the new [Indiana Jones], much like they did with Phantom Menace, they have a tendency to be a little harder on it.

"You're not going to get a lot of accolades doing a movie like this. All you can do is lose," he added.
