Heather Mills lie about being offered peerage revealed

Heather Mills reputation has been dealt another blow after it was revealed that she fibbed about former British PM Tony Blair offering her a peerage.

London, Mar 25 : Heather Mills' reputation has been dealt another blow after it was revealed that she fibbed about former British PM Tony Blair offering her a peerage.

Mills had been bragging that she had been promised a "people's peer" gong in 2001.

According to her, the title was being bestowed on her at Blair's behest with support from a Lord Macdonald - before she became a 'Lady' on her marriage to Sir Paul McCartney.

Mills went so far as to claim that she was still undecided about whether to become Baroness Mills because it was "a bit odd", the Sun reported.

Now, an ITV documentary has lined up Labour peers who rubbish Mills' claim.

The programme, named 'McCartney vs McCartney: The Ex Files', tracked down all three Labour Lords with names like Macdonald and none could recall even meeting her.

Mills had made the claim to Sunday Times writer Jasper Gerard, who was flabbergasted that a commoner would be offered peerage.

"I was pretty gobsmacked that somebody who was essentially just a model and a bit of a part-time campaigner best known for being Paul McCartney's girlfriend should be offered a peerage," the Sun quoted Gerard as saying.
