Eighty-two designers lined up to showcase their collection of apparel and accessories in 40 shows spread across five days.
Apart from top-notch designers, there were several debutants too, and this year's show witnessed the maximum number of designers showcasing their collection of prˆt-a-porter and couture designs for the first time. The Fashion Week is the sole platform that drives the business of fashion agenda.
Every year during this season, new trends are set and old trends are set aside and this year it was no different. With more than a hundred shows during this year's Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week, running virtually all day from 12.15 p.m. to 9 p.m., new makeup trends have emerged.
There were loads of refreshing colors attacking the makeup kit. In short, this time there was maximum use of bright and fresh colors.
A combination of subdued and yet, strong make up ruled the ramp. There were quite strong colours for the cheeks and eyes. Gold also made a huge comeback.
Make up artist Jojo who also has done the make up for some of the biggest names of the fashion industry says that this season, a very distinct, clean classic look as well as slightly edgy looks will rule.
"There is subdued and very strong make-up ruling this season. The colours are more browns and purples and not very happy colours are in vogue. There is a bit of blue too during this season," said Jojo.
Stylist Yatan Ahluwalia who has styled for some of the biggest names in the industry and is a consultant in India with international brands says histyle tips for hair are centred on a lot of structures and style.
"In terms of hair it is going to be a lot of structures, styles and a lot of hair that is set in various shapes and fine texture. This season a lot of emphasis is on skincare both for men and women. I think skin care with natural products is going to be the next big thing as far as vanity for bothen and women are concerned," said Yatan.
The fashion week was then quite a trendsetter as far as the new line of clothes and hair styling are concerned.
