Washington, Mar 18 : Orlando Bloom has pulled out of Lone Scherfig's 'An Education' just days before shooting was set to begin, citing scheduling conflicts.
The 30-year-old hunk has been replaced by Dominic Cooper, who starred in the 2006 big screen adaptation of Alan Bennett's play 'The History Boys,' in the film penned by oft-adapted British novelist Nick Hornby, reports the Hollywood Reporter.
Cooper will play a thirty something playboy in the coming-of-age drama who turns the life of a 17-year-old girl upside down in early-1960s London.
Producers had to act quickly to find a replacement for Bloom, which began shooting last week and will be in front of the cameras until May on location in and around London, Oxford and Paris.
Cooper joins a cast boasting a host of beloved actors, including Emma Thompson, Peter Sarsgaard, Carey Mulligan, Alfred Molina and Rosamund Pike, Olivia Williams and Sally Hawkins.
Cara Seymour, whose credits include 'The Savages,' 'Hotel Rwanda' and 'Adaptation,' is also signing up for Scherfig's latest.Produced by Finola Dwyer and Amanda Posey, the film was developed from an early stage with BBC Films.
James D. Stern's Endgame Entertainment and BBC Films are financing the film, with Odyssey Entertainment handling worldwide sales.
Scherfig is helming from Hornby's script based on a piece of memoir by British journalist Lynn Barber.
