Star Scientologists face Anonymous threat

Star Scientologists Tom Cruise and John Travolta are living in fear after an internet-based protest group Anonymous, which has waged a war against the religion, expanded their protest beyond the World Wide Web to streets all over the world.

London, Mar 16 : Star Scientologists Tom Cruise and John Travolta are living in fear after an internet-based protest group 'Anonymous,' which has waged a war against the religion, expanded their protest beyond the World Wide Web to streets all over the world.

Last month, over 7,000 Anonymous recruits picketed Scientology bases in 93 cities including London, Manchester and New York.

Security for these Hollywood celebrities was beefed up after the shadowy Internet group emerged.

But the group were on streets again on Mar 15, protesting outside recruitment centres around the world wearing masks to hide their identities.

Now, organizers of Anonymous are planning to step up their campaign with 'guerrilla protests' against star Scientologists.

"These are creepy people and anyone could be among them - it's very worrying," The Daily Star quoted an insider, as saying.

One of the members of the Anonymous group accused star church members of 'scare mongering.'

"We have made our point outside their buildings and we will now make it outside the mansions where their big star members live and on the red carpets they walk in Hollywood," the member said.
