Fellini retrospective at Italian film festival in Chandigarh

Chandigarh, Mar 13 : It was a cine gala with a retrospective of ace filmmaker Fredrico Fellini at the Italian film festival hosted by Alliance Francaise, here.

The film festival started on March 7 and concluded on March 12 showcased many European films to the sheer delight of movie lovers. The highlight of the festival was a retrospective of Italian filmmaker Fredrico Fellini's cine works.

"European films made by eminent directors are being showcased here and for this film festival we have films directed by a very good director, the best we can say. We are promoting European films here," said Isabelle Normand, Director of the Alliance Francaise.

The festival was aimed at enabling the Indian audience to view the classic films of Fredrico Fellini, 20th century's most revered filmmakers and also to help them understand other European movies.

"In the current film festival, we planned to have the films of a great film director Fellini. Five films were shown with two shows of each film. All films were excellent `Oscar: La Strada Interview', `The Orchestra Rehearsal', La Dolce Vita' was the most famous film," said Tapesh Sharma, Secretary of the Chandigarh Film Society.

The festival was held in collaboration with the Chandigarh Film Society and was greatly appreciated by the Indian audience.

Chandigarh Film Society has been formed to promote the culture of watching and appreciating world classics. The society will soon organise another foreign film festival in which will showcase 35 mm films.
