Guy Ritchie signs on to give new take on Sherlock Holmes

British director Guy Ritchie has signed on to write and helm a reimagining of super sleuth Sherlock Holmes for Warner Bros.

Washington, June 4 : British director Guy Ritchie has signed on to write and helm a reimagining of super sleuth Sherlock Holmes for Warner Bros.

The pic is being produced by Lionel Wigram and Dan Lin, and will give a new take on Holmes.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Ritchie's super sleuth will be 'more adventuresome and less stuffy' than previous screen versions.

Warner Bros has been developing a Holmes for some time now.

At one point, it had roped in Neil Marshall to direct and Michael Johnson to pen the script.

Ritchie will rewrite and polish Johnson's script.

This will be the second time that Ritchie works for Warner Bros. He recently completed the upcoming crime caper "RocknRolla" which is due to hit theatres in October this year.
