Spider-Man 4 to hit cinemas in May 2011

Spiderman lovers should cheer up, as the fourth instalment of the web-weaving superhero series is all set to hit the theatres in May 2011.

London, June 24 : Spiderman lovers should cheer up, as the fourth instalment of the web-weaving superhero series is all set to hit the theatres in May 2011.

While the producer of the film, Laura Ziskin does not have a finished screenplay in hand, she claimed that along with Sony Pictures they will dish out a new sequel in three years.

Although 'Spiderman 3' did not fare well at the box office, the producers are trying their best to ensure that the fourth flick proves to be a gainer at the ticket window.

It's still not sure if Tobey Maguire would again get into the superhero suit, as rumours are making rounds that 'Almost Famous' actor Patrick Fugit might become the new Spiderman.

Meanwhile, 'Zodiac' writer James Vanderbilt has been confirmed to pen the screenplay.
