London, Jun 16 : Leona Lewis has vowed that she will not end up like troubled English singer Amy Winehouse.
The English singer and songwriter admitted that she admires 24-year-old Winehouse's musical talents, but would definitely avoid the pitfalls of fame.
According to 23-year-old Lewis, having a family that is strong and supportive is one way of helping her keep her feet on the ground.
"Amy is so talented. But a performer's privacy is taken away. The media are always there," Daily Star quoted her as saying.
"You can't make your mistakes in private. I have the advantage of a great support structure.
"I get honest opinions from family and friends.
"They aren't always telling me what I want to hear, but the truth helps keep my head straight," she said.
The one thing that the 'Bleeding Love' singer is happy about, as she has revealed to America's Parade magazine, is to be compared to chart legends Whitney Houston, 44, and Mariah Carey, 38.
"It's exceedingly gratifying because they're so great," she added.
