Washington, Jun 15 : Jessica Simpson's American footballer boyfriend Tony Romo has dismissed rumours that the former's father Joe Simpson interfered with his romance.
Romo has laughed off the reports that Jessica's dad had tried to drive a wedge between him and the singer, dismissing the rumours as "laughable".
The couple were said to have split last month (May08), with the cause of the break up being blamed on Romo, who the American tabloids said had grown sick of Joe meddling with their romance.
But ever since the so-called break up, the couple have been photographed out and about together, putting on a united front against the accusations.
In defence to the accusations, Joe, who manages both his daughters career, recently hit out at the allegations, insisting he hasn't stepped over the line.
Romo, who is very tired of the rumours, issued a brief statement to People.com in a bid to silence their critics.
"It's all laughable. (Joe's characterisation is) so far from the truth," Contactmusic quoted him as telling the magazine.
