Chavez slams Bush, praises Castro during interview with Naomi

Venezuelan leader Hugo Chavez slammed US President George W. Bush, and hailed Cuban President Fidel Castro when he was interviewed by supermodel Naomi Campbell for GQ magazine.

London, January 7 : Venezuelan leader Hugo Chavez slammed US President George W. Bush, and hailed Cuban President Fidel Castro when he was interviewed by supermodel Naomi Campbell for GQ magazine.

This was for the time that Campbell took the role of a political reporter.

Chavez described the Bush Administration as "genocidal", and called the US President "completely crazy".

He, however, called Castro a fashion icon.

When asked who he considered to be "the most stylish world leader", according to the Daily Snack, he said: "Fidel, of course! His uniform is impeccable. His boots are polished, his beard is elegant."

Chavez also said that he did not consider British Prince Charles' wife Camilla to be very good looking.

"I like the Prince. Now he has Camilla, his new girl. She's not as attractive, is she?" he said.

Revealing the reason why she chose Chavez for an interview, Campbell wrote in the magazine: "While my interview with him was the main reason for my visit to Venezuela, I also wanted Chavez to donate something to the Nelson Mandela Foundation, which I represent, and I wanted to see his social programmes in action. I didn't want to judge Chavez, or probe him for his political views, even though he gave them freely. I simply went to interview Hugo Chavez the man."

She went on: "Since I was last in Venezuela 10 years ago, for a Sports Illustrated shoot, people seemed happier."

She also revealed that Chavez showed her his library and paintings.

The leader also had a penchant for singing, she added.

"I believe if he wasn't the president he'd be a very successful Latin singer," Campbell wrote.
