Britney Spears is suffering from a psychological problem, says celebrity psychologist and author Dr. Phil McGraw.
Washington, Jan 7 : Britney Spears is suffering from a psychological problem, says celebrity psychologist and author Dr. Phil McGraw.
According to Dr. Phil, who spent close to an hour with the 26-year-old star when she was being discharged, the 'Toxic' star needs psychological help.
"My meeting with Britney and some family members in her room at Cedars leaves me convinced more than ever that she is in dire need of both medical and psychological intervention," The Dailysnack quoted McGraw, as saying in a statement to Entertainment Tonight and The Insider.
Britney landed at Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre in Los Angeles strapped to a stretcher after police were called to her home because of a dispute involving the two sons she had with ex-husband Kevin Federline.
"She was released moments before my arrival and was packing when I entered the room. We visited for about an hour before I walked with her to her car. I am very concerned for her," said McGraw.
While the officials at the Medical centre did not comment on Spears, McGraw said that he would talk about her condition on his daytime talk show.
Meanwhile, some close sources to Spears' family have also said that the pop star has "suffered from a psychological disease for years".
Many friends of the singer have revealed that she has taken anti-anxiety medication.
"And who knows what she's on now. This is really a matter of her being unstable, not suicidal ... she's not balanced," People quoted them, a saying. It has also been disclosed that Spears has earlier suffered from depression after both her pregnancies.
"She had postpartum depression after Preston was born. She didn't want anyone's help ... It got worse after Jayden was born," said a source who was close to the family during her marriage to Kevin Federline.
"The tragic thing is that Britney loves her children and would never knowingly put them in harms way. Her mental instability is getting in the way of her making proper judgment and it's extremely unfortunate," said a close family source.
