The 44-year- old actor spent his formative years in Springfield in America's Midwest.

Since a number of fans make a pilgrimage to the area to learn more about their idol, local residents are hoping that a museum will be created as a tribute to Pitt.

"Springfield is very Midwestern and family oriented," Contactmusic quoted Susan Wade, head of PR for the town, as saying.

"We're glad to have Brad as part of our history and culture. In fact, we need a Brad Pitt Museum," he added.
