London, Jan 7 : Aussie pop singer Kylie Minogue has expressed her desire to be a mother before the end of 2008.
Kylie, who is 39-years-old, and has just been awarded an OBE for services to music, revealed her desire to her family members while she was holidaying in Melbourne, Australia.
"Kylie is blown away to receive an OBE in the Queen's New Year's honours list and sees it as a good omen for 2008," the Daily Express quoted a friend of hers as saying.
"Professionally she has achieved more than she could ever have hoped for and she's very clear about what she wants for the future," she added.
However, Kylie who has just been given a second chance with life is grateful for all she has, and is willing to settle only for the whole package.
"For her that means a family of her own, so with a new album out and planning for the 2008 tour well under way, she's looking ahead to what comes after all that," her pal said.
"She feels a child would fulfil her. It's what she's always dreamed of. Her breast cancer diagnosis in 2005 and the ups and downs that followed have only enforced her yearning to find the kind of unconditional love a child gives," she stated.
The singer has also revealed that she is looking for a home outside London.
