Britney Spears father Jamie Spears, broke down following the release of his daughter from an LA hospital on Jan 5.

Washington, Jan 6 : Britney Spears' father Jamie Spears, broke down following the release of his daughter from an LA hospital on Jan 5.

A source close to the Spears' said that Jamie was "really upset and in tears" when he visited Britney at her Beverly Hills Home.

Jamie was really upset. He was in tears. When he got to the house and realized the situation there, it broke him down," People quoted a source, as saying.

Jamie, who has had a rocky relationship with the 'Toxic' singer, was the only Spears family member on scene during her mental evaluation.

"[Jamie] thought he understood what was going on. He doesn't know what to do. Everyone is trying to figure out the best thing to do, but who knows what that is now," the source said.

Britney was released from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles on Jan 5, following her stand-off with police on Jan 3.
