Ang Lees Lust, Caution up for Baftas 2008 foreign film award

Ang Lees Lust, Caution has been tipped for the Baftas 2008 foreign film award.

London, Jan 5 : Ang Lee's 'Lust, Caution' has been tipped for the Bafta's 2008 foreign film award.

'Lust, Caution' is the story of a group of student activists trying to assassinate a Kuomintang officer who is in collusion with the Japanese.

The other titles up for the award are - Marc Forster's 'The Kite Runner', andcademy Award winner 'The Lives of Others'.

French films, 'The Diving Bell' and the 'Butterfly' and 'La Vie En Rose' have also been nominated, reports BBC.

On Jan 4, the British Academy of Film released the names of nominees for the foreign-language film award only, saying early release would give academy members time to view the films.

The shortlist was decided by a newly formed Chapter made up of Academy voting members with specific foreign film expertise.

Last year's foreign film Bafta went to Spanish language fantasy 'Pan's Labyrinth', directed by Mexico's Guillermo del Toro.
