The poll conducted by Quickley Publishing Co. placed the 44-year-old star at the top.
Second spot went to 'I Am Legend' star Will Smith, reports Contactmusic.
The third place went to George Clooney followed by Matt Damon at the fourth position.
'American Gangster' star Denzel Washington finished fifth.
The top five 'Top Money Making Star' as per Quickley Publishing Co. were:
1. John Depp (Pirates of the Caribbean)
2. Will Smith (I am Legend)
3. George Clooney (Ocean's Thirteen, Michael Clayton;
4. Matt Damon (Ocean's Thirteen, The Bourne Ultimatum)
5. Denzel Washington (American Gangster, The Great Debaters).
