Murphy, Edmonds to tie the knot once again

After exchanging vows on a private island of Bora Bora in French Polynesia on New Yearss Eve, newlyweds Eddie Murphy and Tracey Edmonds will wed for the second time in a legal ceremony when they return to America.

Washington, Jan 4 : After exchanging vows on a private island of Bora Bora in French Polynesia on New Years's Eve, newlyweds Eddie Murphy and Tracey Edmonds will wed for the second time in a legal ceremony when they return to America.

The couple married on the island in front of 25 close friends and family members.

But since the ceremony carries no legal significance in the U.S., the duo will enjoy a second wedding when they return home, reports E! Online.

On Jan 3, the representatives of Edmonds said that the Bora Bora vows "was a ceremony to bind Eddie and Tracey spiritually" and that they would be formally declared husband and wife as soon as they arrive in the U.S.

Under French law, people wishing to marry must reside near where the ceremony is to take place for at least 30 days before they can legally tie the knot.

And America only recognizes international weddings if the ceremony adheres to local laws in the country where it takes place.
