Marilyn Monroe helping Amy Winehouse through rehab

Amy Winehouse is surviving rehab by watching films of 1950s screen icon Marilyn Monroe.

London, Jan 29 : Amy Winehouse is surviving rehab by watching films of 1950s screen icon Marilyn Monroe.

The Back to Black hitmaker's father, Mitch, said that Winehouse's love for the late actress is helping her through her daily battle with drugs.

"Amy is very ill and is suffering horrific withdrawal symptoms - shivering and constantly throwing up. Her body is expelling all the rubbish," The Sun quoted Mitch, as saying.

"One thing helping Amy is her Marilyn Monroe films. Amy loves Some Like It Hot. She's a huge fan of Monroe and thinks she's wonderful," he added.

Meanwhile, the 24-year-old singer seems to be making sincere efforts to sort herself out. Mitch said that the doctors were delighted to see the singer's progress.

"Amy's battling bravely against addiction. She's compliant and follows everything they tell her," Mitch said.
