Winehouses mother fears singer will end up like Britney

Troubled R and B singer Amy Winehouses mother is certain that her daughter will end up like Britney Spears.

Washington, Jan 28 : Troubled R and B singer Amy Winehouse's mother is certain that her daughter will end up like Britney Spears.

Amy's mother has given up all hope that her daughter will ever come out of the mess she's in, and has even gone so far as to prepare herself for the star's death.

The 'Back To Black' hit maker had checked into a London rehab on Thursday (24Jan08), six days after a video footage of her smoking crack on a drugs spree came to light.

However her mother Janis Winehouse is of the opinion that it may be too late for 24-year-old Amy to receive any help.

"I've known for a long time that my daughter has problems. But seeing it on screen rammed it home. I realise my daughter could be dead within the year. We're watching her kill herself, slowly," Contactmusic reported Janis as telling British newspaper the Sunday Mirror.

"I've already come to terms with her dead. I've steeled myself to ask her what ground she wants to be buried in, which cemetery. Because the drugs will get her if she stays on this road," she added.

"She's invited me to the Grammy awards next month, but part of me thinks she won't be alive by then. I look at Heath Ledger and Britney. She's on their path. It's like watching a car crash - this person throwing all these gifts away," Amy's mother concluded.
