Gordon Brown may appear in The Simpsons

London, Jan 28 : UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown could star in the hit TV series 'The Simpsons' but show's producers feel that they'd probably need to add subtitles to make sure U.S. audiences understand his Scottish accent.

When animator Dan Povenmire was asked about the small-screen debut of the Prime Minter, he said: "He's Scottish; I don't know if anyone would understand him."

Brown would not be the first UK Prime Minister to grace 'The Simpsons,' reports Scotsman.

In 2003, Tony Blair guest-starred as himself in one of the episodes of the series.

But Povenmire recalled that when Blair made his first appearance on the cartoon show, many Americans did not have a clue that who they were watching.

"At the time Blair was on The Simpsons, I would say 80% of people on the streets in America didn't actually know who he was," he said.

"The people in Los Angeles thought he was great, the people in New York thought he was darn funny, but the vast majority of the middle of the country was unaware of him," he added.
