Norah Jones barred from taking acting classes

Singer Norah Jones was barred from taking acting classes for her debut movie.

Washington, Jan 21 : Singer Norah Jones was barred from taking acting classes for her debut movie.

The 28-year-old singer, wanted to take lessons ahead of her debut in 'My Blueberry Nights' but director Kar Wai Wong banned her from doing so, fearing that she would not be 'natural'.

"I found an acting coach and took a couple of lessons, and then I asked Kar Wai what I should start working on - you know, because I knew nothing about this character. And he said 'No, don't take acting lessons. I want you to be natural.' So I said, 'Are you sure? Are you crazy? You've never seen me act," Contactmusic quoted her as saying.

The Grammy award winner was also seen doing a cameo in 2002 in a film 'Two Weeks Notice' where she was seen at the piano, singing for a charity benefit.
