Pop group Take That, Beirut-born pop singer Mika and television talent show winner Leona Lewis are leading the field in the nominations for this years Brit Awards.
London, Jan 15 : Pop group Take That, Beirut-born pop singer Mika and television talent show winner Leona Lewis are leading the field in the nominations for this year's Brit Awards.
All three have bagged four nods for the music industry's big night, which will be held at Earls Court in London on Feb 20, reports BBC.
Right behind the trio was producer and performer Mark Ronson, singer Kate Nash and rock bands Arctic Monkeys and Kaiser Chiefs, each of whom had three nods.
Take That is up for the Best British Album, Best British Single, Best British Group and Best Live Act categories.
Meanwhile, Lewis and Mika will go head-to-head for the Best British Breakthrough award, and both are contenders in the Best British Female and Best British Male categories respectively.
While Kanye West is up for the International Male honour, Rihanna and Kylie Minogue are the serious contenders for the Best International Female gong.
A surprise was the arrival of Natasha Khan, who records as Bat For Lashes, in the British Female and Breakthrough categories.
Music legend Sir Paul McCartney will also be honoured with an Outstanding Contribution to Music award.
The nominations were announced at the Roundhouse in North London on Jan 14.
