Snoop Dogg, Beckham team up to save lives in crime-ridden areas

Rapper Snoop Dogg has joined hands with football ace David Beckham to spearhead a campaign to save lives in Californias poorest and most crime-ridden areas by introducing youngsters to sports.

Washington, January 14 : Rapper Snoop Dogg has joined hands with football ace David Beckham to spearhead a campaign to "save lives" in California's poorest and most crime-ridden areas by introducing youngsters to sports.

Their campaign aims at engaging the youth in soccer and American football.

"We're going to be trying to save lives. We will be going in to do different things and I hope someone cares," Contactmusic quoted Dogg as saying.

The Gin N' Juice star is apparently considering this campaign to be a great opportunity to makeover his "bad boy" image.

"I hope this proves I do other things than go to jail, smoke weed and go back to jail. With me, the media is usually most concerned with conflicts and altercations," he said.

Dogg strongly believes that he and Beckham are more alike than people think.

"We have a lot of things in mind and a lot of things in common as well as both having three kids," he said.

"Like me, he wants to do whatever he can to help other, less fortunate kids. I like the guy's style...," he added.

The singer has even offered to help the former England captain launch a career in hip-hop.

"And if he wants to do something musically with me, he's welcome. But he hasn't asked about that yet," he said.
