Barton says she is 100 percent responsible for her DUI case

Mischa Barton has said that she was 100 percent responsible for her DUI case and is truly ashamed of herself.

Washington, Jan 11 : Mischa Barton has said that she was '100 percent responsible' for her DUI case and is truly ashamed of herself.

The 21-year-old actress gave her first interview after her DUI arrest on Dec. 27 and said that she deserves to be blamed for the crime.

"Obviously, I'm 100 percent responsible for my actions in this case, and I'm really disappointed in myself. I don't know what to say about it except I'm not perfect. I just don't ever intend to do something this stupid again," E! Online quoted Barton, as telling Ryan Seacrest's L.A. radio show.

The former OC actress was arrested for driving under the influence, possessing drugs and driving without a valid license.

"It was the end of the night, and I just wanted to get my car home," she said.

Barton also explained why she did not have valid license when she was pulled over.

"I didn't have a license. I grew up in New York, the land of people who don't have to drive. It's always been the toughest thing about living in L.A. for me. I usually try not to get behind the wheel," she said.

However, the actress was released on 10,000 dollars bail after spending seven hours in the police custody.

Her arraignment is slated for Feb. 28.

Barton refused to go into further details about the incidents surrounding her arrest, saying she wasn't supposed to discuss the upcoming case.
