Kanye West to headline 2008 Glastonbury Fest?

American record producer and rapper Kanye West may appear as the biggest star performer at this years Glastonbury Festival.

London, January 10 : American record producer and rapper Kanye West may appear as the biggest star performer at this year's Glastonbury Festival.

Michael Eavis, the founder of the Glastonbury festival, has indicated that West has been given the biggest slot for performing at the event, which runs from 27 to 29 June this year.

"I'm putting on a black American headliner who's absolutely terrific," British tabloid The Sun quoted him as saying.

Eavis has revealed that English soul, jazz and R and B singer Amy Winehouse will also perform at the festival.

"I really, really need her," he said.

The newspaper also reports that people are hoping that the event will not be marred by any show-stopping performances or disastrous technical problems, as happened last year.
