The 40-year-old star said that she was pleased to have starred in the fantasy adventure movie because now it's possible for her to reach the younger audience.
The 'Hours' actress revealed that the best thing about her latest role was its appeal to kids in particular.
"I can say to my kids and to my nephew and nieces, 'Yay, you can come to my film,' because usually I'm saying to their parents, 'Whatever you do, don't let them see it!'" Contactmusic quoted her, as saying.
Kidman, who has quashed rumours that she is pregnant with her first natural child with hubby Keith Urban, adopted two children, Isabella, 14, and Conor, 12, with ex-husband Tom Cruise.
