Britneys manager to get the axe, lawyer wants to quit

After Britney Spears father was handed over the control of her affairs, the latest to be kept away from the pop star is her business manager and her attorney.

Washington, Feb 9 : After Britney Spears' father was handed over the control of her affairs, the latest to be kept away from the pop star is her business manager and her attorney.

While the 26-year-old star's business manager Howard Grossman is close to being fired against his wishes by Britney's father Jamie, her divorce lawyer has asked permission to drop her as a client.

Grossman revealed that while he knew that he was the subject of a closed-door hearing, he was completely unaware why the court had granted Jamie the right to fire him under a temporary conservator's motion against him.

"The only thing I will say is my reputation speaks for itself. I couldn't tell you why they chose this path," People quoted Grossman, as saying.

According to the court papers Grossman was served with orders to surrender "all documents, records and assets relating to Britney Spears."

Meanwhile, divorce lawyer Sorrell Trope agreed that he had filed papers asking permission to be granted relief from being Britney's attorney in her custody battle with Kevin Federline. However, the hearing on the subject is scheduled on March 10.

The 'Toxic' star's lawyer had filed similar papers several weeks ago, but retracted them later.

"We filed paper asking to be relieved, and hopefully they will find someone to replace us. I'm not at liberty to say more at this time," said Trope.
