Actor Casey Affleck has signed on to star in the period noir drama The Kind One.
Washington, Feb 6 : Actor Casey Affleck has signed on to star in the period noir drama "The Kind One."
Based on author Tom Epperson's recently published novel, the pic will be set in 1930s Los Angeles and will tell the tale of an amnesiac who finds himself working for a mobster -- a sadistic killer given the nickname "the Kind One".
To make matters worse, he also falls in love with the thug's girlfriend.
Affleck will be playing the amnesiac.
He is currently riding on the back of the accolade he got for his performances in 'Gone Baby Gone' and 'The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford', for which he has earned an Oscar nod in the supporting actor category.
The pic will also see him reuniting with "Gone Baby Gone" producer Sean Bailey, who is producing through his new Disney-based Idealogyshingle.
Epperson will adapt his novel when the WGA strike is over.
