Britneys assets placed under her fathers control

Pop diva Britney Spears and her assets, including a 125 million dollars estate, have been placed under the conservatorship of her father, James, under a court order.

London, Feb 3 : Pop diva Britney Spears' and her assets, including a 125 million dollars estate, have been placed under the "conservatorship" of her father, James, under a court order.

The 26-year-old pop star was admitted to the UCLA medical centre in Los Angeles, after her another much publicised meltdown due to drinking, drugs and personal problems. Her psychiatrist requested that she be held under a 5150 72-hour holding order.

It is believed that the Toxic star's mental state has worsened in recent days, and that she has not slept for five days, leading to hospitalisation.

Court commissioner Reva Goetz ruled that, as Spears was unable to take care of herself, she would be under conservatorship till the next hearing scheduled for 4 February. James, who has been made a temporary 'conservator' of Britney's financial assets along with a lawyer, can now handle all of her liquid assets such as credit cards.

He can even change the locks on her estate, and bar people from meeting her, reports Times Online.

According reports, Goetz said that conservatorship in the 'Toxic' star's case was deemed "necessary and appropriate" and was "in the best interests" of her well being.

Britney's mother Lynne Spears was also present in court when the decision was made.

The ruling also came with a restraining order against the pop wreck's pal cum manager Sam Lutfi, who recently called the Spears family "crazy" in a number of interviews.
