French actress Marion Cotillard and English actor Daniel Day Lewis walked away with the top awards of Best Actress and Best Actor at this years Oscars.

Washington, Feb 25 : French actress Marion Cotillard and English actor Daniel Day Lewis walked away with the top awards of Best Actress and Best Actor at this year's Oscars.

Cotillard has become the first French actress since 1960 to walk away with Academy award for Best actress for her portrayal of legendary chanteuse Edith Piaf in 'La Vie en Rose'.

"We'll, I'm speechless now. Thank you, life. Thank you, love. It is true, there are some angels in this city [Los Angeles]," People quoted Cotillard, as saying.

Daniel Day Lewis walked away with his third Academy Award for his role in "There Will Be Blood".

Actors Tilda Swinton in "Michael Clayton" and Javier Bardem for "No Country for Old Men" took away supporting Oscar awards.

"Whoa, this is pretty amazing. I have to speak fast here, man," said Bardem, while receiving the trophy for Best Supporting Actor.
