London, Feb 24 : Rocker Pete Doherty has come to the rescue of troubled pop star Amy Winehouse's jailed hubby Blake Fielder-Civil by starting a campaign to get his mate out of jail, calling it Free Blake For F***'s Sake.
The 'Babyshambles' rocker is also helping Blake by advising him about an implant fitted to beat heroin addiction.
Blake wants to have the implant fitted to combat his drug addiction, and thus has constantly been in touch with Doherty, who has been giving him tips on the opiate-suppressing device.
Doherty had the same implant fitted two years ago and now he seems determined to help Blake in his fight against drugs.
"Pete's been supportive over Blake's drug issues as he knows what he's going through. Blake is willing to give the implant a go," News of the World, quoted an insider, as saying.
Besides, Blake has also sought advice from doctors at Pentonville prison, where he's awaiting trial on charges of attempting to pervert the course of justice and GBH.
"Blake is willing to give the implant a go. The medical team are now looking at another conultation before fitting the implant. The medical team suggested rehab or the implant. Blake was allowed to speak to Pete Doherty to discuss what having the implant was like. It was a way of persuading him that he could kick drugs," said the insider.
In fact, the governors at the jail are also looking forward to the implant plan after his recent health scare, wherein he took contaminated drugs.
"The prison bosses want action as soon as possible as tget don't want Blake to overdose while he's locked up," said the source.
