Veteran rockers Bon Jovi are planning a major documentary film detailing their time on the road and in the studio.

Washington, Feb 17 : Veteran rockers Bon Jovi are planning a major documentary film detailing their time on the road and in the studio.

The legendary band is all set to come up with their first band documentary, after decades of watching their contemporaries showing their histrionics on screen.

The 'It's My Life' hitmakers have given the reins of directing this project to acclaimed filmmaker Barbara Kopple, as they embark on their upcoming world tour.

According to guitarist Richie Sambora, Kopple will use a mixture of old and new footage of the band.

"We just realised that (over) all the years, we really didn't document enough stuff Contactmusic quoted him," as saying.

"We put out a box set a few years ago, but we look at other bands, contemporaries like U2, even Tom Petty and Aerosmith, and they had cameras rolling all the time. We didn't have a lot of footage like that going on," he added.
