Beatles former flat up for sale at £1.75m

A London apartment, which the Beatles once shared on rent for several months in 1963, is up for sale for 1.75m pounds.

London, Feb 15 : A London apartment, which the Beatles once shared on rent for several months in 1963, is up for sale for 1.75m pounds.

The three-bedroom top floor property in Green Street, Mayfair was shared by the Fab Four in the autumn of 1963.

The band's manager Brian Epstein booked the flat to give the group privacy from the huge fan following, after their second number one hit 'She Loves You'.

Though the band lived in the flat just for a few months, it is the only home, which all four Beatles ever shared.

The residence, which has now been renovated into a two-bedroom apartment, is for sale through Sotheby's.

The flat has been used periodically by its present owner, who is based in California.

"The owner is aware of its history, but hasn't turned it into a Beatles shrine or anything like that," BBC quoted estate agent Peter Bevan, as saying.
