Washington, Feb 12 : American actor Ryan Phillippe has finally revealed his feelings about being divorced from actress Reese Witherspoon.
The actor dubbed his divorce from Witherspoon as "the darkest, saddest place I had ever been".
"There were a good four or five months of not being able to get out of bed. It was the worst time in my life," People magazine reported the 33-year-old actor as telling W magazine.
But that was how he felt some time back, now though he has started to cope with the whole thing.
"You get through it. It's a process that's not easy, but I get less and less sad about it every day," he said.
"I certainly understand the level of interest that comes along with a public marriage, and with being married to someone like Reese, who so many people love with good reason. People want answers," he stated.
"But I think sometimes they wouldn't be happy with what the answers would be," he added.
Even though Phillippe is moving on with his life, and the drama of the divorce has died down, he admits the medias interest with him is because he was married to the most successful actress.
"It's just not interesting to me. It's not how I want to be defined," he stated.
