Ellen Page to star in Sam Raimis Drag Me to Hell

Actress Ellen Page is all set to star in the horror film Drag Me to Hell.

Washington, February 11 : Actress Ellen Page is all set to star in the horror film 'Drag Me to Hell'.

The film will be helmed by 'Spider-Man 3' director Sam Raimi, who has written it with his brother Ivan.

It is slated to begin principal photography in Los Angeles on March 17.

'Hell', the joint venture between Mandate Pictures, Raimi and his producing partner Rob Tapert, will be the first feature that Raimi directs for Ghost House.

Universal has acquired domestic and select international rights to 'Drag Me to Hell'. It will distribute the film in North America, Germany, Spain and Latin America.

"Sam Raimi's return to horror is a cause for celebration for horror fans and movie lovers everywhere," the Hollywood Reporter quoted Universal Chairman Marc Shmuger and Co-chairman David Linde as saying.

"We are tremendously excited to be bringing this movie to audiences, and having Ellen Page, one of today's most gifted and relatable young actors, onboard to star is an abundance of riches," they added.

All other international territories will be handled by Mandate International.

Mandate was one of the producers of the current hit 'Juno', which has supercharged Page's career.

Page, nominated for an Oscar as best lead actress, next appears in Miramax's 'Smart People'. She is also slated to star in 'Whip It', which Drew Barrymore is directing.
